Run Scoring

Due to the overwhelming laziness of the Australian team and the desire to reduce the distraction when playing in an open plan office, running between the wickets has been completely eliminated from the game. Instead a single run is deemed to be scored when the ball it hit outside the boundary defined by the two nearest cubicle posts and the wicket keeper area.

A four is scored when the batsman hits the ball, on the full, to either the far wall, the batsmans right hand side wall or past the NT administration group.

Taking Wickets

Catches. A batsman is out if he is caught on the full or after one bounce of the ball by any member of the opposing team, any member of the network department or any visitor to the network department. Catches by match umpire are not out.

Bowled

A batsman is out if the bowled ball strikes the wicket. Note that batsmen cannot be run out.

Special Caught Behind Rules

If the batman edges the ball and it then hits the wicket keeper area he is deemed out. The one bounce rule does not apply to any caught behind decisions. The wicket keeper area is defined by two pieces of blue tack where imaginary lines are made between the two pieces and vertical lines from the blue tack to the ground.

Leg Before Wicket

A player cannot be out by leg before unless the Umpire thinks the benefit is being abused by the batsman. This is the abuse it and lose it rule.

The Umpire

All disputed decisions are ruled upon by the independent umpire from Sri Lanka, Wasantha.

The umpire may also rule a batsman out for unsportsmanlike conduct or any other reason he likes. The umpire is to be considered clairvoyant. He can made a decision even if he was on the phone or even in a meeting at the time of the appeal.
